Quality Guidelines

The quality of business consulting depends primarily on the personal and tangible skills of the consultants and officers deployed. The manner in which our business consultancy is organised and the way in which we deal with the tasks and challenges we are presented with play a central role here. To this extent, our company considers itself obliged to decide on the extent of the organisational measures needed to secure the quality of the consulting services we provide and to monitor them continuously.

Independence and Impartiality

The consultant shall perform his duties independently and exclusively according to the rules of the specialist art. He may not act according to other rules nor let himself be influenced by the contracting party or third-parties with regard to the results of the consultancy service he provides,. The consultant is to act with particular impartiality concerning expert reports, except in cases where he has explained to the parties involved that a partial expert report is concerned. The consultant is to refuse the task he is entrusted to perform if he is concerned that he may be prejudiced whilst performing his duties. Consultancy services cannot be provided when there is a conflict of interests.

Acceptance and Continuation of Contracts

Care it to be taken that only those projects are accepted or continued that can be correctly completed with regard to facts, human resources and time. Care is to be taken that only those team members are deployed on a consultancy project who fulfil the above criteria.

Qualifications and Information

Successfully completing the projects that the company has been entrusted with wholly depends on the qualifications of the practically active team members and the status of the information they have at their disposal. Responsibility for the project can only be transferred to team members when they possess the qualifications required for the project tasks. This is to be ensured by checking the personal and specialist suitability of the individual on employing him, regularly evaluating his performance and ensuring appropriate training and further training.

All-Round Project Planning

By correctly scheduling resources for all consulting projects and planning the implementation of individual projects, the prerequisites are to be created for correctly performing all projects accepted and expected to the scheduled deadline. A detailed work plan is to be drafted for all individual tasks in a project and their quality requirements worked out. During all-round planning, the kick-off date and duration of the projects and the quality and quantity of the human resources required are to be taken into account and coordinated, and time buffers planned in. After completing the projects, subsequent cost accounting is to take place and a manoeuvre criticism drafted and the results analysed.

Tangible and Organisational Instructions and Utilities

Assurance is to be provided that the team members working on a consultancy project observe certain laws, special regulations and developments. Besides receiving sufficient information and supervision, written instructions should prove suitable here. Compliance with these special and organisational instructions needs to be monitored in an appropriate manner. The extent and form of the instructions are to be planned in line with the respective business consulting project. Organisational instructions need to make reference to the correct performance of the projects, the documentation relating to the projects and correct communication of the consultancy results.

Quality Assurance while Completing Individual Consultancy Projects

From the moment a project is accepted, the team member responsible is to ensure that an adequate and correct project course is guaranteed by correctly scheduling resources. This included monitoring the progress of the project, inspecting the consulting results, the qualification of the employees deployed, knowledge of the company to receive consulting services and its sector, management experience of the project manager, adequate time scheduled for completing the tasks, and scheduled time buffers.

Consultancy Project Instructions

The project manager responsible for the consulting project is to familiarise his team with the tasks they are to be entrusted with by providing them with suitably structured and clearly understandable instructions and also inform them of their responsibilities. If the client's employees are to participate in work on the project, their qualifications and responsibilities are to be resolved with the client and included in writing in a supplement to the contract. The consulting instructions need to be set out in such a way that they ensure the tangible performance of consulting activities, sufficient documentation of the consulting activities and results, and correct reporting.

Monitoring the Progress of Consultancy Projects

The project manager responsible for the consultancy project is to participate in the project in such a manner that he is able to reliably arrive at a personal opinion. He is to lead his team members appropriately and supervise them. If, for larger consultancy projects, the project manager delegates part of his supervisory duties to another team member, he is to pay particular attention to the qualifications and suitability of this person for the tasks. The project manager is to ensure that all team members deployed during the consultancy project have the required specialist knowledge and judgement at their disposal, understand the instructions they are given and that the project is performed according to the specifications.

Verifying Consultancy Projects

The project manager responsible for the consultancy projects or another member of the team with approrpriate project experience should—if possible before the end of the project—judge the work performed by the team on the project, the documents pertaining to working methods and the results of the project for correctness. Validation of the project results using the two-pairs-of-eyes principle is to take place to check whether the project was performed according to the consultancy specifications, whether consultancy activities were correctly documented, whether the aim of the project was achieved and whether the results of the project are logically comprehensible.

Inspection

In order to ensure compliance with the quality standards applicable to the business consulting services provided, the quality assurance system is to be subjected to appropriate internal inspection. Particularly, organisation of the business consulting services and handling of the individual consultancy projects should be compared with the applicable quality standards. Organisation of regular inspections.
